Gameplay changes and fixes

A consolidated reference for server behavior that differs from an unmodified Matcha datapack installation.

Divine Presence

Contribute damage to an Ender Dragon within 20 minutes before its defeat to earn Divine Presence permanently.

On the Overworld surface, ordinary hostile mobs cannot emerge within 64 blocks of you and existing surface hostiles flee. Caves and other covered areas remain dangerous.

Divine Presence has no visible potion effect. Monster Musk can permanently revoke it if you prefer ordinary surface encounters again.

Multiplayer progression

  • Generated structure loot and End Ship Elytras are personal and persistent per player.
  • End access is attuned per player instead of being controlled by whoever reaches the portal first.
  • Dragon and repeat boss rewards are shared across contributors rather than lost to one final hit.
  • Profiles provide separate inventories, advancement state, statistics, locations, hearts, and Hardcore runs after five hours.
  • Cleared Ocean Monuments restore Elder Guardians for players who still need their first encounter.
  • Death floors, Crystal Hearts, Personal Hard Mode, and milestones are tracked separately for each profile.

Items and equipment

  • Ordinary alloy smithing no longer consumes a redundant base-metal template item.
  • Smithing preserves enchantments and trims and resolves equal-level enchantments correctly.
  • Old equipment and recognizable items missing intrinsic data repair automatically without replacing names or durability progress.
  • Ordinary Fortune reaches level II, while Fortune III remains intrinsic to Electrum equipment.
  • Jewelry intended to be unbreakable is repaired automatically and does not take armor durability damage.
  • Bronze and Shakudo Elytras stop functioning at zero durability instead of breaking and disappearing.
  • Invisible frames stay invisible when recovered.
  • Electrum-to-Adamant armor upgrades retain the right appearance while receiving Adamant gameplay stats.
  • Water Bottles stack and merge correctly, including the offhand.
  • A valid anvil use consumes exactly one Ofuda rather than the whole ingredient stack.

Fishing and food

  • Missing biome routes and incorrect fish pools have been corrected, including Deep Dark and several edge biomes.
  • Fishing quality, species, biome, and largest catch feed one persistent journal and advancement record.
  • The Angler's Almanac presents that progress through 16 regions and 85 catch pages.
  • Fishing shimmers provide visible shared treasure opportunities while ordinary heart and loot-box rates stay rare.
  • Overlapping healing food no longer discards unfinished regeneration.
  • Kegs persist brewing batches; teas and fermented cooking ingredients have practical four-serving recipes.
  • Matcha Tea, Beer-Crust Pizza, Apple Cider French Toast, and Wine-Braised Stroganoff add server-specific food progression.
  • The 1.12.1 Alpha adds Oil, Seitan, Molasses, Pumpkin Curry, Nopales, Bubbling Mead, Bunuelos, Fish and Chips, Ice Cream, Lumpia, Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, and Dino Nuggets.

World and mobs

  • Normal Zombies use a calmer movement speed, while personal Hard Mode retains its faster profile. Targeted speed is softened for a high-latency opponent without dropping below vanilla speed.
  • Endermen cannot alter terrain.
  • Boss sounds and Wandering Trader arrival or departure notices are localized to nearby players.
  • Villager Amnestics have a one-day cooldown per Villager.
  • Newly generated terrain can include deep-desert Coal, high-altitude Nether Quartz, natural Hellspore, and small supported beach flower patches; the rest of world generation is not replaced wholesale.
  • Abbeys can contain Allays and use revised tower loot, ambience, Copper Eye checks, and Warding Stone restrictions.

Recipes and loot

  • The Prayer of Midas is craftable and provides Fortune I with Looting III.
  • Hellbricks can be made by smelting Netherrack in an Oven.
  • Spawner mobs no longer create unattended Obol income; Trial Spawners retain active rewards.
  • Shop containers support barrels and chest minecarts where applicable, with any physical item as currency.

Everyday server systems

  • All player containers are protected automatically while redstone and hopper automation continue working.
  • Doors and trapdoors can be locked deliberately but are never protected automatically.
  • Trust may be global, local, grouped, copied to future placements, carried by portable containers, or edited before placement.
  • Waystones support discovery, favorites, public destinations, and Sack payments without holograms.
  • Kindlings provide one-use exploration respawns and Home Totems provide a return to the normal respawn point.
  • Projects, events, posts, channels, mail, news, destinations, messages, nicknames, bios, voting, feedback, and reports use persistent in-game screens.
  • Allays can deliver a named Shulker Box to another player without loading chunks, then return to the sender after collection.
  • The website provides a player-authored Community Wiki and typed BlueMap waypoints linked to community articles.
  • The full and texture-friendly resource packs can be selected in game and are remembered for later logins.
  • New players can build on untouched terrain while established player work and dangerous areas receive automatic protection.
